We promote individual creativity, exploration and expression instead of “mass production” art and craft where every child produces the same or similar end products deemed “acceptable” by adult’s standards.

We teach the children visual art techniques, and provide them with opportunities and a wide range of materials and media to explore.  We support and extend the children’s spontaneous learning during these art and craft activities.

We set both direct and indirect learning objectives for art and craft activities, such as independence, perseverance, problem-solving and improvisation, creativity, spatial-visual observation, artistic interpretation, and visual representation of ideas.

By integrating visual art into Montessori and project work, we help children see visual arts as an important means of creative expression and communication in meaningful and purposeful work, as much as a fun activity in itself.
